The First VSN Buyback
Getting the flywheel started
We have talked about the Vision flywheel for a long time.
The idea is simple: products create usage, usage creates revenue, and part of that revenue flows back into the VSN economy.
Now we are at the point where this can start happening.
The VISION Web3 Foundation will conduct its first-ever VSN buyback.
The buyback amount is €2,000,000 and will take place between September 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026.
Why now
We are entering an important quarter for Vision, with several product and ecosystem topics moving forward. More importantly, the ecosystem has now generated enough revenue to start putting the model into practice.
This buyback is the first concrete step in turning the flywheel from an idea into an actual mechanism.
Why it matters
Over the past months, we have been building the pieces around the economic model step by step: products, revenue streams, staking mechanics, governance, and a clearer connection between ecosystem activity and VSN.
Now we can start validating that model in practice.
The goal is not one isolated buyback. The goal is to show that product usage can generate revenue, that revenue can support VSN, and that the community can help decide how value flows back into the ecosystem.
What happens to the bought VSN
The VSN bought from the market will be held in the Foundation treasury.
The Foundation will consult the community through a governance vote on how a share of those tokens should be used.
What comes next
From here, the model becomes more concrete. Product usage generates revenue, that revenue is used to buy back VSN, and the community helps decide how some of the acquired tokens are used.
Let’s get the flywheel moving.
