Wallet, chain, token utility and what we are working on next - July Q&A

Where Vision stands today

Question

How satisfied are you yourselves, as a team, with the current state of Vision?

Answer

We are satisfied with the progress on the Wallet and Vision Chain. Both are moving in the right direction, and the product foundation is getting stronger.

We are not satisfied with the current result when it comes to the token.

Part of that is clearly market sentiment. The broader environment has been difficult, and that affects many tokens, not just VSN. But we also do not want to hide behind that. We are not happy with the current token performance, and we know the community is not either.

That is why the focus remains on the things that can actually change the situation over time: more product usage, more utility, more revenue, and more direct links between ecosystem activity and VSN.

Question

What core values drive the Vision Token team?

Answer

The main values are usefulness, simplicity, ownership and long-term thinking.

Usefulness, because VSN only matters if the products around it create real value for users. We do not want utility that only looks good in a deck. It needs to be felt in the product.

Simplicity, because most people do not want to deal with bridges, gas tokens, chains, routing or DeFi complexity. They want things that work. Our job is to hide as much of that complexity as possible without hiding the risks.

Ownership, because Web3 only makes sense if users have more control, not less. That includes self-custody, governance and giving holders a real role in the ecosystem over time.

Long-term thinking, because this cannot be built around short-term hype or emissions forever. The goal is an ecosystem where usage, revenue and token utility reinforce each other sustainably.

That is what drives the team: make decentralised technology useful for normal users, while building an ecosystem that can actually last.

Question

Is the team still growing right now?

Answer

Yes, the team is still growing.

But in a market like this, it is important to be smart with resources.

That means adding full-time team members where it really makes sense, while relying on external contractors and partners in areas where that is more efficient.

The goal is not to grow headcount for the sake of it. The goal is to make sure the right people are working on the right things at the right time.

VSN utility and Bitpanda integration

Question

What is going to happen with the Gold Club? Will there be changes here, perhaps related to VSN as well?

Answer

Without promising too much too early, the interplay between VSN and Club is being reconsidered.

This is one of the areas where closer integration between Vision and Bitpanda can make sense, but it also requires proper operational implementation. It is not just a marketing decision.

We look forward to sharing more with the community once the details have been worked through.

Question

What is the biggest lesson your team learned this month that changed how you are building the product going forward?

Answer

The anniversary competition confirmed something we already suspected: especially in a contracting market, the Bitpanda Broker user base is where the biggest impact on VSN will come from.

That is important.

The positive impact from that campaign is something we are now actively using internally as an argument for closer VSN integration into the Bitpanda platform, both with existing and upcoming products.

As we have said before, this is not something the Vision or Web3 team can decide alone. Broker integrations involve other teams, priorities, systems, and requirements.

But we are confident that we have made progress in the internal understanding of why this matters.

The learning is clear: when VSN connects to the Bitpanda user base in the right way, it moves the needle.

Vision Chain and the VSN economy

Question

How exactly will the Vision token benefit from the chain?

Answer

Vision Chain will generate revenue from processing and ordering transactions. We intend that part of that net revenue is routed into on-chain purchases of VSN

The necessary changes to the whitepaper are being made to reflect this. We will publish the updated whitepaper once this document has been correctly notified to the FMA in accordance with the requirements set out in MiCAR.

The smart contract documentation will also be published once the contract has gone through an external audit.

We cannot give an exact timeline for either process yet. Regulatory review and external audits can involve back and forth, and we do not want to promise a date before those processes are complete.

But both workstreams are active.

Question

How far along is the completion of the chain?

Answer

We are actively developing our own modifications to the OP Stack.

At the same time, we are negotiating and finalising vendor agreements with the infrastructure providers needed to support the chain at public mainnet launch.

The next steps are onboarding these infrastructure providers to the chain and continuing work on the flagship product launches that should accompany public mainnet.

So the answer is: yes, the chain is being actively built. But the chain itself is only one part of the work. Infrastructure, vendors, product integration, launch use cases, and institutional readiness all need to come together.

Vision Protocol and Wallet infrastructure

Question

What is the current state of Vision Protocol? Any updates on getting it onto a wider user base and/or developers?

Answer

The team is working on the next evolution of Vision Protocol. You can call it Vision Protocol 2.0 if you want.

This next version will add more protocols and improve the overall routing setup.

Its main use case will again be inside Vision Wallet. The goal is to improve the swapping experience, add more routes, increase stability, and support new blockchains. That also means access to more assets.

The focus right now is not wider reach for the sake of it. First, the protocol needs to become stronger, more stable, and more useful where users already interact with it most: inside the Wallet.

BEST and Pantos migration

Question

Why was the forced migration of the remaining BEST and Pantos tokens on 16 July 2026 not carried out?

Answer

It is true that we had initially considered a forced migration and had communicated that in a blog.

The short version is this: we decided to extend the voluntary migration window until further notice.

Users can still request migration, and we will process these requests on a monthly basis.

This gives users more flexibility. They can still migrate their tokens, or they can keep them as BEST or PAN if they prefer. If we would one day choose to move forward with a forced migration, the remaining holders will be duly notified in line with Bitpanda’s Terms and Conditions.

Security and long-term infrastructure

Question

How are Vision and Chain preparing for quantum computers? I think security is important. Will this slow down this year’s plans in any way?

Answer

This is mainly handled at the OP Stack and Ethereum infrastructure level.

Optimism has published a formal 10-year plan, starting in January 2026, to move the OP Stack away from today’s cryptography and toward quantum-resistant security before quantum computers become a realistic threat.

The transition is planned to happen gradually through normal network upgrades, not through one sudden disruptive migration.

There is no immediate danger to funds today, and this work is being coordinated alongside Ethereum’s own quantum-resistance efforts.

So no, this is not expected to slow down this year’s plans. It is an important long-term security topic, and it is being handled at the right infrastructure layer.

Foundation Board update

Question

Why did Fabian Reinisch step down as President of the Foundation Board, and why was Vishal Sacheendran appointed instead?

Answer

The change reflects the Foundation’s transition from its initial setup phase into a more operational growth phase.

Fabian’s role and legal expertise were highly valuable while the Foundation’s structure, governance and legal foundations were being established. As the focus now moves more toward execution, ecosystem growth and international coordination, Vishal’s profile is a strong fit for the next stage.

Vishal also brings legal and regulatory know-how, and the Foundation Board continues to include several experienced legal and governance professionals.

Closing thoughts

That’s it for this Q&A.

The focus stays the same: improve the Wallet, strengthen Vision Protocol, build Vision Chain, connect VSN more directly to usage, and keep pushing for integrations that make the token more useful.

The market is still difficult, and we are not satisfied with where the token is today.

But the work is moving forward.
