Ecosystem Update #2

Ecosystem Update #2

Vision Chain progress, wallet updates and a few clarifications

Welcome to the second ecosystem update. As with the first one, the goal is to share where things stand across the Vision ecosystem, what has moved forward, and where more time is still needed.

Vision Chain: adding clarity

Over the past days, we recorded the first Vision Chain deep dive video as well as a separate chain Q&A. This was originally planned as a single piece of content, but it became clear quite quickly that it would be too long. We therefore decided to split it into two parts.

In the deep dive, we walk through the core idea and basic setup of Vision Chain, the three-pillar strategy, and the problems we want to solve for our three target audiences: European financial institutions, European retail users, and independent Web3 builders.

We also go into more detail on what differentiates Vision Chain for institutions and how the chain is intended to become infrastructure for activities across Bitpanda, the DeFi Wallet, and Bitpanda Technology Solutions. Another focus is the chain flywheel, which explains how activity from these three groups reinforces each other and how VSN fits into that system.

Together, the deep dive and the Q&A should provide more clarity, not only on what we plan to do with the chain, but also on what we are deliberately not focusing on. This will likely turn into a series, as there are still many topics worth exploring. The next deep dive will most likely focus on concrete use cases and how they connect to retail users.

We are also launching a Vision YouTube channel with this content. It will serve as an additional place to share longer-form content like these deep dives, as well as shorter educational formats such as the reel we posted earlier today.

A little teaser: we expect to be able to announce the rollup stack we are partnering with fairly soon.

Wallet updates

On the wallet side, we shipped a feature that has been a long time coming: the discovery section. This makes it much easier to explore new and interesting assets directly in the wallet.

Because the Wallet gives you access to the onchain world, it also means access to assets before they appear on e.g. centralised exchanges. That includes new memecoins, airdrop tokens, or other early-stage assets.

The next wallet update will focus on Engage. We are rolling out the leaderboard, along with several quality-of-life improvements. One important change is that the Vision multiplier will be explained directly in the app, so it is easier to understand without prior knowledge. We expect to have this version in testing very shortly and, depending on the results, a release is not too far away.

Sports club campaigns

On the sports club side, scheduling has been challenging. We are currently finalising the timeline with AC Milan, and it is looking like the campaign will launch in April.

We could have run a smaller, social-only activation earlier, but we deliberately decided against that. For partnerships of this size, we want to use the full set of available channels and do it properly, rather than rushing something limited.

Community discussions and expectations

We understand that some of you would prefer fixed dates well in advance. Experience has shown us that for topics with dependencies across teams, partners and companies, this often creates more frustration when plans inevitably change.

At the same time, we also hear feedback that we should stop communicating and only speak once everything is delivered. That is not something we want to do either.

What we commit to is being more open about what we are working on, sharing more insight into ongoing work, and bringing you along the journey more clearly. If that is something you value, we are glad to have you with us. If not, we will still make sure to communicate clearly once things are fully delivered.
